I understand that we all have to make sacrifices for the betterment of mankind. We have to give up a few things in order to keep each other safe and out of danger. But in this case, you can’t tell me that there aren’t other options. Taking away land from an 80 odd year old farmer, land that has been in his family since before Canada was a thing, is wrong. Yes, this has happened to countless people in the past, but at what point does it stop? The argument that it makes economic sense for the community is vile. What kind of a community steals from it’s neighbor to better itself? This not a situation many of us would accept, if we were the ones making the sacrifice.
