This should not be viewed as a slight on the various food trucks and carts popping up around the County lately. From gourmet burgers to locally sourced tacos to east coast goodness, I love and welcome them all. It is interesting though to look at the quality of our leftovers. Rodents, scavengers and all manner of pests are living large, and now we’re going to serve it all up to them in a plastic, glass and metal free smorgesburgh of goodness.

I’m torn by this. I understand the need to save money by limiting the dump hours, but this factor, plus higher disposal costs, makes it much more likely that we’ll see garbage strewn all over our beautiful rural landscape. Though I personally can’t imagine dropping so much as a gum wrapper anywhere other than the trash can, the amount of trash to be found on the roadsides will likely only increase with this measure.
